Friday poetry challenge: Machines 'n' me

Elegant Elekta
the linear accelerator
peers from the ceiling
with sublime unconcern.
She groans, beeps, and buzzes,
rotates, repositions,
to beam radiation
'til I'm feeling the burn.

Your turn: immortalize in verse your interactions with a machine.

I tell you my stories
140 characters at a time
fearing the Fail Whale that will cut me
out of your world
sending me back into mine

Taunting from above
The menacing silver foe
Pretends to make drinks

Again, just checking in to see how your doing. Have a great weekend, Bev! Love and prayers! B

O Braun-y, My Braun-y

My secret love is my electric toothbrush.
Vibrating, churning, it gives me a rush.
With the touch of a button, we’re on our way –
Woman and machine fighting tooth decay.
In hygienic excitement, robust and true,
We dislodge plaque and bacterial smoo.
We thwart gum disease, rub out overnight moss.
I’m thrilled when my dentist says, “Who needs floss?”
Minty toothpaste applied, we polish my smile,
Leaving foam in our wake, drips on the tile.
A rinse, all is smooth, the brush back in its holder
Recharging. I turn, wink over my shoulder.

Bacterial smoo! Yucky but wonderful.

These are terrific. Who knew we could be so inspired by mindless machinery?

Let's see some more!
